CarbonView helps companies collect, monitor and report carbon emissions while providing users with the ability to compare and evaluate emission reduction strategies. It is designed to cater to both small organizations just wanting to know their baseline or 'static' company footprint and large multi-national companies or government departments with complex structures, multiple languages and various national emission workbook standards.
CarbonView is fully auditable and manages the emissions source documents as well as the base data. The solution has a comprehensive reporting component, where-in a set of standard reports and dashboards are available. Users also have the ability to build custom reports to meet their specific needs.
Some organizations are required to monitor emissions beyond their company footprint to their supply chain based on consumer or supplier demand, type of industry or legislation. CarbonView helps companies understand their carbon impact by providing emission monitoring at an activity level. By following a ‘cradle-to-grave’ lifecycle principle, all relevant activities that contribute to a product or service’s footprint can be modeled and the associated footprint computed. This enables companies to identify processes that cause the biggest impact to overall environmental performance and put plans in place to reduce them. Through active lifecycle analysis, companies can employ continuous improvement practices for carbon and cost reduction.
CarbonView allows third party partners and suppliers to access and update the solution in a secure manner, thereby allowing companies to quickly and easily compute the ‘entire’ footprint associated with a product or service. CarbonView aligns well with existing and standards such as PAS2050 as well as emerging product standards like the GHG protocol standard for products.
CarbonView allows companies to compare the trade-offs between carbon footprints and financial performance to determine the best approach for delivering financially sustainable carbon footprint reductions. This solution uses energy consumption data, financial, capacity and constraint data to simultaneously analyze and optimize the trade-offs in sourcing, manufacturing and distribution. Optimal solution reporting allows evaluation of the risks and contingencies companies face when planning a balanced environmental and financial performance strategy.
